Mr Geoffrey Bell has agreed to be a trustee of the Trust. Many of you will already know him and will have enjoyed talks he has given at many of our beautiful churches.

He has very kindly offered to give talks at churches in the East Riding of Yorkshire, subject to arrangement of necessary insurance.  The charge is a small one, of £3 a head, and the proceeds of the talks will be split between the church visited and the East Yorkshire Historic Churches Trust.

His first talk will be at St. Lawrence's Church, Sigglesthorne, East Yorkshire.  This is an exceptionally interesting church, with fine stained glass by the great nineteenth century artists, Clayton and Bell.  The church is at present raising funds for its roof, and the visit will help by its financial contribution, but we are sure that you will find the visit and talk interesting and encouraging.  All are very welcome.  The talk will take place at 2.00pm on  Saturday 12th July 2008.  Please arrive in good time.  You will have to make your own way to and from the church.  Refreshments will be provided at the church for a small charge.

We would be very grateful if any of you would like to nominate other churches for a visit at which Geoff Bell will talk about the church.  Geoff has very generously offered to speak at whichever churches people nominate, so it is a question of first come, first served.  The same arrangement about the splitting of the proceeds of the talk will apply, so the nominated church will not only have the benefit of the interest generated by the visit and the talk, but also financial gain.  For this purpose, your church should be a member of the Trust, but there is no reason why you should not apply to become a member and at the same time nominate the same church for a visit!
