As the end of the second year of the project approaches, we can feel very proud of our achievements so far. There are now over 120 member churches signed up and enjoying the benefits of being part of a larger group with similar aims.

St Edmund's, FraisthorpeWe have hosted some very successful events and published a series of leaflets which have proved more popular than even we could imagine. Who would have thought that the Sykes Churches Trail, and the Holderness and Yorkshire Wolds Churches Gazetteers would be the most popular leaflet in our regions tourist information centres?

We really are putting our churches on the map! The Trust's own website (http://www.eychurches.org.uk/) is constantly updated with news, views, forthcoming events, grant aid information and much, much more. And judging by the many people from all over the country, contacting the trust having seen it, it certainly gets the message across. Additionally, our leaflets are available to download on the Visit East Yorkshire website (http://www.visiteastyorkshire.co.uk/) and over 90% of our member churches are featured on the Yorkshire Tourist Board website (http://www.yorkshirevisitor.com/) with the remaining due to be uploaded in January.

Press releases throughout the year regarding the trust and its various events, keep church tourism firmly in the public eye with staggering results. For example, in the first six months after the publication of the Sykes Churches Trail, visitor numbers at St Mary Cowlam increased by an incredible 880%! And there are many other successes to rival it. As church tourism seems to be the in thing, lets not let the momentum drop!
